Understanding and Expressing Language

  • We facilitate language development in children from preschool to school age by means of therapy, with the goal of enhancing their comprehension and usage of language. Our efforts involve addressing specific language challenges that may be unique to each child. We work with a diverse population of children, including neurodiverse individuals such as those with ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia, as well as children with language delays.

Social
Communication

  • Children engage with their environment, expressing experiences, thoughts, and emotions through both verbal and non-verbal cues. At Babble Bees, we provide comprehensive support to nurture these essential skills in a neurodiversity-affirming manner. We empower children and their families by equipping them with tools, techniques, and strategies to enhance their participation in various settings, including home, school, and play environments.

Literacy

  • Literacy, which encompasses the essential skills of reading and writing, is a crucial area of focus for school-aged children. Our therapy programs are designed to support reading, writing, and spelling skills using proven, evidence-based interventions. We work closely with children who require support in these areas, including those with specific learning disorders, dyslexia, or challenges related to language and literacy development. By providing evidenced based interventions, we aim to empower children with the skills necessary to read and write fluently, and confidently.

Feeding

  • Many factors can contribute to a child’s feeding difficulties, including medical, developmental, social, and emotional aspects. Through a comprehensive assessment, we identify the root cause and tailor therapy to support your child’s unique needs while prioritising autonomy, family relationships, and positive mealtime experiences.

Feeding therapy may help if your child struggles with mealtimes, has a limited diet (less than 20 foods), refuses or avoids certain textures, experiences distress or meltdowns during meals, has difficulty transitioning to solids, or relies on tube feeding. Sessions are tailored to individual goals, whether expanding food variety, tolerating new textures, or simply being comfortable around certain foods.

Speech Sound Difficulties

  • While children develop speech at varying rates, they typically achieve specific milestones by certain ages. By the age of 3, most children's speech should be understandable to their family and friends. Our practice offers evaluations to assess your child's speech development and determine if it aligns with their age. Based on these assessments, we provide tailored, evidence-based interventions to support your child's communication skills.

Early
Intervention

  • If you have concerns about your child's language acquisition and development, we offer evaluations to identify potential delays and provide advice and therapy for your child's language development concerns. Our therapy approach primarily focuses on equipping parents with effective strategies and tools that can be implemented at home to promote speech and language development. This is particularly beneficial for children who are late talkers or experiencing other challenges in communication. If you're uncertain about when to seek help, you can refer to the communication milestones kit provided by Speech Pathology Australia. It offers valuable information on typical communication milestones for children in this age bracket.
